We are seeking an experienced General Mechanic/Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, and support equipment to minimize downtime and keep our operations running efficiently. Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and mechanical components. Perform preventative maintenance on excavators, skid steers, loaders, forklifts, crushers, generators, and other heavy equipment. Repair company trucks, trailers, small engines, and support equipment. Conduct inspections and identify equipment needing repair before failures occur. Perform welding, cutting, fabrication, and minor machining as needed. Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete repair documentation. Respond to field service calls when equipment breaks down on job sites. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop and work area. Follow all company safety policies, OSHA, and Cal/OSHA regulations. Communicate effectively with supervisors, operators, and project managers regarding equipment status and repair needs. Qualifications Minimum of 1 years of experience repairing heavy equipment or diesel equipment. Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and troubleshooting. Experience with welding and fabrication preferred. Ability to read service manuals, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic schematics. Valid California driver's license (CDL is a plus). Must provide basic mechanic hand tools. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
