Majestic Steel What You Will Work On:
As an Industrial Maintenance Technician, your primary responsibility will be maintaining and repairing forklifts and other material-handling equipment, while also supporting the reliability of production machinery throughout the Service Center.
Responsibilities include:
Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repairs on diesel and propane forklifts and other material-handling equipment Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, brake, steering, fuel, cooling, and powertrain issues Use diagnostic equipment, service manuals, schematics, and equipment diagrams to identify equipment problems Repair or replace worn or defective components Perform routine maintenance, including fluid changes, lubrication, filters, belts, hoses, batteries, and other service items Respond to forklift and equipment breakdowns and work to minimize downtime Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on steel-processing machinery, motors, conveyors, and other production equipment as needed Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues on production equipment, including motors, controls, and sensors Replace or repair components such as bearings, belts, motors, and gearboxes Perform fabrication and welding when needed Work safely using lockout/tagout procedures Maintain accurate records of inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs Support production teams during equipment breakdowns Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and efficiency
What We're Looking For:
Hands-on mechanical experience maintaining and repairing forklifts, lift trucks, heavy equipment, automotive equipment, fleet vehicles, or similar mobile equipment Experience working on diesel and propane-powered equipment Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills Experience troubleshooting hydraulic and electrical systems Comfortable using diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools Ability to read service manuals, schematics, and equipment diagrams Willingness to support both forklift maintenance and industrial production equipment Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in an industrial environment Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel occasionally
What Makes You Stand Out:
5+ years of experience as a forklift mechanic, diesel mechanic, automotive mechanic, fleet mechanic, heavy-equipment mechanic, or maintenance technician Extensive experience maintaining and repairing diesel and propane forklifts ASE certification preferred Experience with hydraulic systems, brakes, steering, fuel systems, and electrical diagnostics Experience with preventive maintenance programs Experience repairing industrial or manufacturing equipment Welding or fabrication experience Experience working in a manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, or Service Center environment Basic proficiency with MS Office and Windows-based computer applications Majestic Steel is America's domestic supply chain provider for rolled steel, and we're ready to tackle America's housing, infrastructure, job, and sustainability challenges now and into the future.
