The ideal candidate will have extensive mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience in the maintenance and repair of heavy machinery. This role requires a strong understanding of various systems, including hydraulics, diesel engines, and air brake systems. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring that all equipment operates safely and efficiently. Responsibilities Diagnose mechanical issues in heavy equipment and machinery. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various types of heavy equipment, including cranes. Assemble and align components as needed to ensure optimal performance. Conduct tire service and repair tasks to maintain equipment mobility. Utilize hand tools and specialized equipment to execute repairs effectively. Work with hydraulic systems, ensuring proper function and safety standards are met. Solder electrical connections as necessary for equipment functionality. Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and safely. Experience Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or similar role. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in diesel engine repair. Familiarity with air brake systems and their maintenance requirements. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Certification or training in heavy equipment mechanics is preferred but not mandatory.
