Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Maintenance Mechanic with specialized experience in the inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance of various warehouse material handling equipment. The ideal candidate will be proficient in maintaining Electric Pallet Jacks (EPJ), Low-Lift Pallet Jacks (LLP), Stand-up Forklifts, and Cherry Pickers (Order Pickers). This role is critical to ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our warehouse by minimizing downtime and extending the lifespan of our equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine preventative maintenance (PMs) on all assigned warehouse equipment, including but not limited to EPJs, LLPs, Stand-up Forklifts, and Cherry Pickers, according to manufacturer specifications and company schedules. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on material handling equipment using schematics, diagnostic tools, and technical manuals. Execute timely and effective repairs to restore equipment to full operational status, minimizing impact on warehouse productivity. Troubleshoot and repair battery charging systems, motors, controllers, and other electrical components of electric forklifts and pallet jacks. Conduct pre-shift inspections and safety checks on equipment, identifying and rectifying potential hazards. Order and manage spare parts inventory, ensuring critical components are available to prevent extended downtimes. Collaborate with warehouse operations staff to understand equipment performance issues and coordinate maintenance activities to minimize disruption. Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and company policies, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures. Provide technical guidance and support to equipment operators on safe operating procedures and basic troubleshooting. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability and maintenance processes. Keep work area clean, organized, and free of hazards. Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED. 5 years of proven experience as a Warehouse Maintenance Mechanic, warehouse material handling equipment. Demonstrated expertise in the troubleshooting and repair of: Electric Pallet Jacks (EPJ) Low-Lift Pallet Jacks (LLP) Stand-up Forklifts (e.g., reach trucks, stand-up counterbalanced) Cherry Pickers (Order Pickers) Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment specific to material handling machinery. Familiarity with battery maintenance, charging procedures, and battery watering systems. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly, stand, walk, bend, stoop, and climb for extended periods. Must be able to work mid-shift. 12noon to 8:30pm Monday to Friday.

Preferred Qualifications:

Forklift operator certification for various classes of equipment.

Physical Demands:

Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds frequently. Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, and climb for extended periods. Ability to work in various environmental conditions (e.g., varying temperatures, noise levels common in a warehouse). Manual dexterity and fine motor skills for operating tools and handling small parts.
