We specialize in equipment sales, rentals, parts, and service, supporting customers in construction, material handling, recycling, aggregates, and other demanding industries. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Field Service Technician to join our growing service department. This position is ideal for a skilled technician who enjoys working independently, troubleshooting complex equipment issues, and providing exceptional customer service. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy construction and material handling equipment at customer locations throughout Colorado. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of their work, make sound decisions in the field, and represent our company professionally. Key Responsibilities Diagnose and repair heavy equipment, including wheel loaders, excavators, material handlers, and other construction machinery. Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, drivetrain, and engine systems. Perform field repairs, preventive maintenance, inspections, and equipment servicing. Utilize electronic diagnostic software, service manuals, and manufacturer technical resources. Identify equipment failures and recommend effective, cost-conscious repairs. Complete accurate service reports, work orders, and documentation. Communicate professionally with customers regarding equipment condition, repairs, and recommendations. Maintain an assigned service truck, tools, and equipment in a safe and professional manner. Follow company safety procedures and manufacturer repair guidelines. Participate in manufacturer training and continuing technical education.
Qualifications Required:
Minimum 5 years of experience repairing heavy construction or material handling equipment preferred. Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, diesel engine, and mechanical systems. Proven ability to independently diagnose and repair equipment in the field. Experience using electronic diagnostic tools and reading hydraulic and electrical schematics. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Ability to work independently while maintaining strong communication with customers and the service department. Ability to perform the physical duties of a field service technician safely, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferred:
Experience with Liebherr, Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo, John Deere, Hitachi, or similar manufacturers. Previous dealership or OEM field service experience. Experience servicing wheel loaders, excavators, and material handling equipment. Manufacturer technical certifications or specialized training. Pay:
$30.00 - $55.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 60.0 per week
