Overview We are seeking a skilled and energetic Shop Mechanic to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicle fleets, heavy equipment, and machinery. Your expertise will keep our operations running smoothly and efficiently, supporting our commitment to safety and reliability. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, vans, and trucks using detailed schematics and technical manuals Conduct diagnostics on automotive electrical systems, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and brake systems to identify issues accurately Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to repair or modify machinery as needed Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications Assist with equipment assembly, installation, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance routines to minimize downtime Experience Proven experience working as a mechanic in a dealership or heavy equipment environment Strong background in heavy truck repair, diesel engine mechanics, and equipment maintenance Familiarity with schematics for electrical systems and mechanical components of various machinery Hands-on experience with fabrication, welding, soldering, and metalworking techniques Knowledge of automotive diagnostics tools and safety procedures related to heavy equipment operation Ability to lift heavy components safely and perform physical tasks associated with equipment repair
Pay:
$25.00 - $35.00 per hour
