Field Technician (1099 Contractor) First Fiber LLC Boca Raton, FL Job Details Part-time | Full-time | Contract $18 - $24 an hour 10 days ago Qualifications Teamwork Network infrastructure Assembly Attention to detail Hand tools Full Job Description Role Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented, hands-on Field Technician to assist with installations and service calls. You will work under the direction of our Field Supervisor to execute high-quality cabling, equipment mounting, and system configuration. This role is ideal for a self-starter who takes pride in clean, professional workmanship and is looking to contribute to major, high-stakes installations.
Key Responsibilities Installation:
Perform rough-in, trim-out, and final installation of low-voltage systems, including structured cabling (Cat6/Fiber), AV equipment, surveillance cameras, and access control hardware.
Equipment Setup:
Assist in the mounting, rack assembly, and termination of devices for automation, networking, and lighting control systems.
System Testing:
Conduct point-to-point testing, cable verification, and basic system troubleshooting to ensure components are functioning to specification.
Site Maintenance:
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all materials and tools are handled safely and efficiently.
Collaboration:
Work effectively with the Field Supervisor and other team members to meet project deadlines and uphold First Fiber's high standards of integration. Qualifications Proven experience in low-voltage installation, cabling, and systems integration. Technical familiarity with infrastructure hardware, including networking equipment (Ubiquiti/Araknis) and security systems (IC Realtime/Digital Watchdog). Comfortable working in construction environments, including ladders, lifts, and attic/crawl spaces. Ability to follow detailed instructions and interpret technical diagrams/schematics. Professional attitude, reliable communication, and strong attention to detail.
Requirements:
Must have basic hand tools and reliable transportation to job sites in the South Florida area.
Pay:
$18.00 - $24.00 per hour
