Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanic Assistant to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will support skilled heavy equipment and vehicle mechanics by performing essential tasks that ensure optimal operation of machinery and vehicles. Repair all equipment associated with course maintenance department. Responsibilities Lubricates and services all course maintenance equipment. Inspects equipment for operating deficiencies. Repairs and adjusts equipment. Maintains repair records on all equipment. Trains maintenance staff in proper equipment maintenance methods. Demonstrates use of new equipment. Performs general overhaul and other preventive maintenance on all equipment. Maintains blades of reel mowers. Maintains inventory of common equipment maintenance and repair parts. Performs emergency repair work out of shop. Undertakes body and fender work, fabrication, welding, troubleshooting and repairs to hydraulic and electrical systems. Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the golf course superintendent. Skills Proven experience working with heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, or similar machinery. Strong mechanical knowledge related to automotive diagnostics, vehicle systems, transmissions, suspension components, hydraulics, and electrical systems. Familiarity with dealership repair processes and industrial equipment maintenance practices. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering tools, and other maintenance hardware. Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex mechanical issues. Experience with diesel mechanics, heavy truck repair, HVAC systems on vehicles or equipment is a plus. Excellent physical strength for heavy lifting and tire service tasks; committed to safety protocols at all times.
