We specialize in the installation, calibration, repair, and maintenance of truck scales and industrial weighing systems serving transportation, agriculture, aggregates, manufacturing, recycling, logistics, ports, and construction. We are growing our South Florida operations and are looking for a dependable, mechanically skilled Heavy-Duty Scale Technician to join our team. Job Summary As a Heavy-Duty Scale Technician, you will travel to customer locations throughout Davie and the surrounding South Florida area to install, inspect, calibrate, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain truck scales and industrial weighing equipment. This is a hands-on field service position that requires mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, electronic, and computerized systems. You will work independently at a variety of industrial and commercial customer locations while providing professional service and technical support. Experience with industrial maintenance, heavy equipment, electrical systems, hydraulics, diesel mechanics, millwright work, or other field service is highly transferable. Scale industry experience is preferred but not required. What You'll Do Install, calibrate, inspect, repair, and maintain truck scales, axle scales, floor scales, and other industrial weighing systems. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, electronic, and software-related issues. Perform preventative maintenance and identify potential equipment problems before they cause downtime. Conduct scale calibrations using certified test weights and specialized diagnostic equipment. Ensure equipment meets applicable standards, including NIST Handbook 44 requirements. Complete service reports, calibration certificates, inspection documentation, and maintenance records. Explain technical issues, repairs, and recommendations to customers in a professional manner. Safely operate company vehicles and job-site equipment such as forklifts, skid steers, and cranes. Maintain company tools, equipment, and service vehicles. Follow OSHA, DOT, and company safety procedures. Travel throughout South Florida and other areas of Florida as needed. Participate in occasional after-hours, weekend, or emergency service calls. What We're Looking ForRequired Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to diagnose problems and determine effective repair solutions. Ability to work independently in a field service environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Good communication and customer service skills. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Current Class A or B CDL with Air Brake Endorsement, or willingness to obtain one. Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 100 lbs. Ability to work outdoors in hot, humid, and changing weather conditions. Willingness to travel regionally throughout Florida, including occasional overnight stays. Basic computer skills for service reports and digital documentation. Preferred Experience with industrial or commercial weighing systems. Industrial maintenance or field service experience. Mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or electronic troubleshooting experience. Diesel/heavy equipment mechanic experience. Millwright or industrial equipment experience. Knowledge of NIST Handbook 44 and commercial weighing regulations. Experience operating forklifts, skid steers, cranes, or other heavy equipment. Welding or fabrication experience. Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
