Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Container Chassis & Trailer Repair Technician to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of container chassis and trailers to ensure optimal safety, reliability, and performance. Your expertise in heavy equipment operation, mechanical systems, and automotive diagnostics will be essential in keeping our fleet operational and compliant with industry standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse equipment, utilize advanced repair techniques, and contribute to the efficiency of our logistics operations. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive inspections and diagnostics on container chassis and trailers using schematics and technical manuals. Conduct repairs on mechanical systems including transmissions, suspensions, brakes, hydraulics, air brake systems, and electrical components. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and heavy lifting devices to execute repairs and maintenance tasks efficiently. Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial equipment safely during repair procedures. Replace or repair tires, shocks & struts, wheel alignments, and perform tire service to ensure safety standards are met. Maintain detailed records of all repairs performed, parts used, and maintenance schedules in compliance with company policies. Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex issues involving automotive electrical systems and diesel engines for truck drivers' vehicle mechanics needs. FMCSA certification/qualification is a plus. Skills Proven experience in dealership or heavy equipment repair with a strong background in fabrication and mechanical systems repair. Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals related to heavy trucks, trailers, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and vehicle systems. Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics, diesel mechanics, HVAC systems, suspension components, and air brake systems. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment (soldering included), and other maintenance tools required for equipment repair. Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures including transmission repairs, wheel alignment, tire service, shocks & struts replacement. Ability to operate heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts safely while performing repairs or inspections. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills; customer service experience is a plus for interacting with drivers and team members.
