Papé Machinery Inc is seeking a skilled Journeyman Field Technician to service, diagnose, and repair John Deere construction and agricultural equipment at customer sites and branch locations. In this Technical & Maintenance role, you'll perform advanced mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting, complete preventive maintenance, and ensure accurate documentation of all work performed. You'll work independently in the field, support customers with equipment operation questions, and collaborate with the shop and parts teams to minimize downtime and maximize equipment performance. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on John Deere and related equipment. Perform scheduled and preventive maintenance to manufacturer and company standards. Travel to customer sites to perform field service in varying weather and jobsite conditions. Use diagnostic software, service manuals, and electronic tools to troubleshoot complex issues. Document all work performed, parts used, and recommendations in service reports. Collaborate with parts and service teams to ensure timely repairs and minimal customer downtime. Provide basic operator training and equipment use guidance to customers. Maintain company service truck, tools, and inventory in safe and organized condition. Follow all safety, environmental, and DOT regulations and company policies. Participate in ongoing training to stay current with John Deere and industry technologies.
