Heartline Staffing is recruiting a Road Mechanic/Service Technician for an equipment service opportunity based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This role performs preventive maintenance, diagnostics and advanced repairs on equipment at customer locations. This is a field-service opportunity for a mechanically skilled technician who is comfortable working on a variety of makes, models and equipment in customer and remote locations. Equipment varies by location and may include aerial work platforms, general construction tools and specialty equipment such as large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems and oil/gas equipment.
COMPENSATION
$30,000
•70,000 Starting rate may vary based on location, education, training and experience

ROAD SERVICE & EQUIPMENT REPAIR
Perform preventive maintenance on equipment at customer locations Diagnose equipment problems and perform advanced repairs Apply knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals Work on a variety of makes, models and equipment Perform service work at customer and remote locations Adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment

Requirements:
High school diploma or
GED REQUIRED 1-2
years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment or specialty equipment such as generators, pumps, HVAC or oil/gas equipment
REQUIRED
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
REQUIRED
Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals
REQUIRED
Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals
REQUIRED
Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
REQUIRED
Ability to bend, squat, crouch and reach as required
REQUIRED
Ability to lift 50 lbs or more
REQUIRED
Ability to work indoors and outdoors as required
REQUIRED PREFERRED / LOCATION-DEPENDENT
Trade school or equivalent technical training Experience with aerial work platforms, construction tools or large-scale specialty equipment ASE or IFPS certification Previous military experience with transferable mechanical or technical experience Bilingual skills, including Spanish or another language, depending on location CDL may be required in some locations; a Cedar Rapids-specific CDL requirement was not provided Not ready to formally apply?
