Heidelberg Materials seeks a Mobile Mechanic to maintain and repair mobile equipment supporting our cement, aggregates, and concrete operations. In this field-based role, you'll diagnose and fix mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on loaders, haul trucks, service vehicles, and support equipment at plants, quarries, and job sites. You'll complete preventive maintenance, respond to breakdowns, and ensure safe, reliable operation. Responsibilities Perform diagnostics, repair, and maintenance on mobile heavy equipment and vehicles used in manufacturing and construction materials operations Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and service according to company and OEM standards to maximize equipment uptime Respond to field service calls at plants, quarries, and job sites, troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and parts usage in maintenance systems Follow all safety policies, lockout/tagout, and environmental procedures while working in field and plant environments Collaborate with operators, supervisors, and maintenance teams to prioritize repairs and communicate equipment status Operate service truck, tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and efficiently Assist with root-cause analysis and continuous improvement of equipment reliability Required Skills Heavy equipment maintenance and repair Diesel engine diagnostics Hydraulic systems troubleshooting Electrical and electronic systems diagnostics (12/24 V) Preventive maintenance planning and execution Use of diagnostic tools and software Reading technical manuals and schematics Welding and basic fabrication Service documentation and work order systems Safe operation of service truck and shop tools
