Job Summary Shelton Outdoor Power is seeking a motivated, dependable, and skilled Powersports Service Technician to join our Service Department. In this role, you will diagnose, maintain, and repair a variety of powersports vehicles and equipment, including motorcycles, ATVs, side-by-sides, and other related equipment. The Powersports Service Technician will use mechanical knowledge, diagnostic equipment, and manufacturer specifications to accurately identify and repair mechanical and electrical issues. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing quality repairs that meet Shelton Outdoor Power's standards and manufacturer requirements. Duties and Responsibilities Diagnose and repair engines, mechanical systems, electrical components, suspension, brakes, and other vehicle systems. Perform routine maintenance and scheduled service, including oil changes, tire replacement, brake repairs, inspections, and other preventative maintenance. Perform service and repairs on motorcycles, ATVs, side-by-sides, and other powersports equipment. Use diagnostic equipment, hand tools, power tools, and specialized shop equipment safely and effectively. Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical concerns and accurately identify necessary repairs. Follow manufacturer specifications, service procedures, and safety standards when completing repairs. Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail. Accurately document diagnostic findings, repairs performed, parts needed, and recommended services. Identify additional maintenance or repair needs and communicate those recommendations through the appropriate service process. Inspect completed repairs to ensure equipment is operating properly and safely before returning it to the customer. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all Shelton Outdoor Power safety policies and procedures. Safely lift, move, and handle vehicles, equipment, parts, and components as needed. Work closely with the Service Manager, Service Advisors, Parts Department, and other team members to ensure efficient workflow and excellent customer service. Participate in manufacturer training and continuing education as required. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications and Skills Previous experience as a Powersports Technician, Automotive Technician, Motorcycle Technician, or related mechanical service professional is preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to diagnose and repair engines, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, and other vehicle components. Experience performing maintenance, repairs, diagnostics, and troubleshooting. Proficiency with diagnostic equipment, hand tools, power tools, and other specialized service equipment. Ability to read and follow manufacturer service manuals, repair procedures, technical information, and specifications. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to perform repairs accurately and efficiently while maintaining attention to detail. Ability to safely lift, move, and handle heavy equipment, parts, and components. Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team. Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate repair needs and recommendations clearly. Commitment to workplace safety, quality workmanship, and customer satisfaction. Manufacturer certifications or powersports dealership experience are a plus but not required. Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development. Pay:
