BIB operates 24-hour emergency snow-removal operations during storms. This position requires flexibility and availability for overtime and emergency repair support outside regular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays when needed. The Position BIB Logistics is hiring an experienced, versatile mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment, commercial vehicles, automotive vehicles, trailers, and small-engine equipment. This is not an entry-level position or a parts-changing role. We need a mechanic who can diagnose problems accurately, work independently, and take ownership of repairs from initial inspection through completion. This is a high-impact position. When our trucks and equipment stay running, our snow-removal, landscaping, and construction crews stay productive. We reward mechanics who prevent breakdowns, identify problems early, and keep the fleet operating when it matters most. During snowstorms, availability and responsiveness are critical. Our mechanic must be able to handle changing priorities, respond to urgent equipment problems, and help keep a 24-hour operation moving. Equipment and Systems You will work on: Heavy and construction equipment Commercial trucks, trailers, and automotive vehicles Landscaping and snow-removal equipment Gas and diesel engines Hydraulic and electrical systems Brakes, steering, suspension, heating, and A/C systems Mowers, blowers, snow machines, and other small-engine equipment Responsibilities Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and engine-related problems Complete repairs correctly and efficiently Perform preventive maintenance and equipment inspections Identify developing problems before they cause equipment failure or downtime Respond to urgent equipment problems during active snow operations Repair or replace engines, components, and assemblies as needed Determine required parts and materials Maintain accurate service and repair records Communicate repair needs and equipment status clearly Keep the shop safe, clean, and organized Move between different equipment types as operational priorities change Required Qualifications Professional experience repairing heavy equipment, commercial vehicles, automotive vehicles, or fleet equipment Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting ability Working knowledge of gas and diesel engines Experience with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems Ability to complete repairs independently without constant supervision Ability to manage changing priorities during busy operating periods Flexibility to work overtime and emergency hours during winter storms Availability for nights, weekends, and holidays when snow operations require additional coverage Valid driver's license Dependable attendance, attention to detail, and a strong sense of ownership Small-engine experience, welding and fabrication skills, diesel diagnostic experience, A/C experience, and industry certifications are preferred but not required.
