Light Duty Technician Capital Heights, MD Apply Now Light Duty Technician Transdev in Capitol Heights, Maryland is seeking a Light Duty Technician to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment. Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers by performing limited repairs with moderate supervision on basic and advanced maintenance such as replacement of light bulbs, fuses, lenses, wiper blades, belts, hoses, batteries, check fluid levels, change fluids and filters and lubricate components. Perform mechanical repairs under moderate supervision including the repair of brakes and brake inspections, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, transmission clutches and other repairs. Maintain records of all maintenance work completed on vehicles including parts and supplies used. Ensure that work orders are completed properly and accurately. Maintain parts usage records and order repair parts from designated suppliers Assist Tech III with preventative maintenance (PM's), safety maintenance inspections and annual maintenance inspections at prescribed intervals of time and usage Remove and replace engine, transmission and differential assemblies with Maintenance Technician III supervision. Diagnoses and performs accurately all phases of vehicle and equipment repair under moderate supervision. Notify supervisor of potentially dangerous equipment and corrective action taken Evaluates completed work prior to release and seeks approval where required Assist with road calls and emergency services as necessary Adhere to Transdev standards, policies and procedures Moves vehicles safely between job and work area Repair and maintain all shop equipment Cleans vehicles as requested or required Other responsibility as requested or requiredQualifications :
Intermediate mechanical aptitude and 2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred) or equivalent education and experience Adhere to standards set by state DOT for motor vehicle inspections and safety standards Valid driver's license Intermediate problem-solving ability Intermediate computer skills Comfortable using hand tools Strong customer service skills and communication skills Ability to work independently as well as part of a team Maintain an organized shop and clean work environment Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job Making sure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers Possess adequate mechanic tool inventory to complete all assigned duties and maintained in a clean and safe mannerPhysical Requirements:
The essential functions of this position require the ability to: Maintenance Shop environment with dust, dirt and grease conditions Ability to work under all weather conditions Ability to lift, pull or push a minimum of 50 pounds.
