Hire Schedule:
Full-Time; shift work may be required.
Pay Rate:
$27.00-$30.00/hr., depending on experience. We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Service Technician to support a busy Northern Maine operation. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing a variety of vehicles and heavy equipment while helping ensure equipment remains safe, reliable, and ready for operation. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical skills, experience working with heavy-duty equipment, and a commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform equipment repairs Maintain and repair a fleet of half-ton trucks Service and repair heavy equipment including road graders, excavators, dump trucks, loaders, log trucks, and trailers Utilize a work order system to document repairs, maintenance, and service activity Work closely with supervisors to prioritize maintenance and repair needs Support onsite safety requirements and safe work practices Perform welding and fabrication work as needed Assist with other garage and equipment maintenance activities as required
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age Trade certification or Associate's Degree in a related technical field preferred Relevant military occupational training or apprenticeship experience will also be considered 2-5 years of experience as a Heavy Duty Service Technician, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, or in a similar mechanical role Experience repairing half-ton trucks preferred Valid Maine State Inspection Technician license preferred Strong welding and fabrication skills preferred Valid driver's license and clean driving record required Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Strong commitment to workplace safety
