Job Description

Mechanic Job Summary CM Tucker Lumber Companies is looking for a talented Mechanic to join our growing company. You will be responsible for inspecting company vehicles, diagnosing problems with the engine or other systems, perform routine maintenance, and complete necessary repairs. Candidates with more than one year of mechanic experience are preferred, but we are willing to train the right person. Mechanic Duties and Responsibilities Perform basic preventative maintenance and light repairs on trucks, trailers, and forklifts Diagnose and help correct forklift faults and breakdowns Manage onsite tools Perform basic maintenance, including changing motor oil, rotating tires, and checking fluid levels Repair or replace worn parts and systems, such as spark plugs, wheel bearings, brake pads, fuel systems, and sensors Follow checklists to ensure thorough examination of all parts and systems Identify mechanical and electrical problems with both manual and computerized diagnostic equipment Perform repairs thoroughly and accurately Ensure safe practices at all times Willingness to learn and progress as tenure increases Mechanic Requirements and Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent preferred Experience with electronic systems maintenance and repair Basic computer skills required Strong communication skills Physical strength and stamina, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds
