Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, bulldozers, loaders, forklifts, and other construction machinery. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, tire services, brake repairs, and hydraulic system checks to prevent breakdowns. Troubleshoot electrical systems, schematics, sensors, wiring harnesses, and control modules using advanced diagnostic tools. Fabricate parts or modify equipment using welding, cutting, soldering, and hand tools to meet specific operational needs. Inspect and repair transmissions, diesel engines, air brakes, suspensions, HVAC systems, and steering components to ensure safety standards are met. Utilize OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) manuals and schematics for precise repairs and assembly procedures. Maintain detailed service records of repairs performed and parts used to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Requirements Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or similar role within dealership settings or industrial environments. Strong mechanical knowledge of construction machinery maintenance, diesel engine diagnostics, hydraulics, electrical diagnostics, and automotive repair. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, schematics reading, and diagnostic software. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy equipment when necessary for troubleshooting or testing purposes. Certification or experience in fabrication techniques such as welding or soldering is highly desirable. Knowledge of OEM standards for equipment repair including Caterpillar or other major brands; experience with farm machinery or industrial equipment is a plus.
