We are currently seeking an experienced, hands-on shop technician to join our growing service team. This position focuses on the repair, maintenance, and inspection of construction and arborist equipment in a clean, well-equipped shop environment. Key Responsibilities Diagnose, maintain, and repair a variety of construction and equipment machinery, including: Compact dirt equipment such as skid steers, excavators, and backhoes Arborist equipment such as chippers and stump grinders Telehandlers and related construction equipment Troubleshoot and repair diesel, gasoline, LP, and electrical systems. Diagnose and service Tier 4 Final diesel engines and aftertreatment systems, including DEF/SCR systems. Read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics to accurately diagnose equipment issues. Use computer-based diagnostic and service software to troubleshoot equipment and identify faults. Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and complete equipment repairs efficiently. Maintain accurate service records and communicate repair findings and recommendations to supervisors. Take ownership of assigned repairs and work independently in a shop environment. Maintain a high standard of quality, productivity, and professionalism. Qualifications Required 3+ years of hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment, construction equipment, or similar machinery. Proven experience working with Tier 4 Final diesel engines and emissions aftertreatment systems. Strong knowledge of DEF, SCR, and diesel aftertreatment systems. Experience with Cummins, Caterpillar (CAT), or John Deere engines. Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills. Ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics. Experience using computer-based diagnostic and service software. Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned repairs. Valid Driver's License. Highly Preferred Experience repairing chippers or stump grinders. Experience with arborist, construction, rental, or equipment service companies. Familiarity with John Deere, Cummins, CAT, Kubota, or similar equipment and engines. Experience with JLG, Genie, telehandlers, or comparable equipment. Experience diagnosing CAN-bus/electronic control systems. Bandit equipment experience is a plus, but not required; training will be provided.
