Job Description

Shop-Based or Road Mechanic (Based on Preference & Experience) Looking for somewhere to grow your career and actually enjoy the work you're doing? Eastern Equipment Services (EES) is actively seeking a solid, experienced mechanic to join service team. We're not a high‑volume parts‑changing shop, we work on a wide variety of equipment and enjoy the challenge that comes with diagnosing and solving real mechanical and hydraulic problems. This role is a great fit for someone who: Enjoys variety and problem‑solving, not repetitive work Is comfortable working independently without being micromanaged Takes pride in their work Wants to grow with a company Depending on your experience and preference, this position may be shop‑based or on‑road. What You'll Do Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic issues Perform inspections and identify potential or developing problems Repair or replace faulty components, parts, or systems Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment Test equipment to ensure proper operation and safety Document repairs and maintenance clearly on work orders Equipment & Work Environment We service a wide range of equipment including: Skid steers, track loaders, telehandlers, and compact equipment Construction, agricultural, and industrial equipment Hydraulic systems including hoses, cylinders, and components We also: Stock and assemble hydraulic hoses in‑house Perform hydraulic cylinder rebuilds in our shop Work on a variety of large and interesting projects, not just the same machines every day What We're Looking For Proven experience as a heavy equipment mechanic or similar role Working knowledge of hydraulic systems and components An established set of personal tools Valid driver's license in good standing (For those seeking work truck) Strong work ethic, accountability, and ability to work independently What We Offer Family owed company, you won't be just a number Competitive Starting pay (with review and potential increase after a 3‑month probationary period) Flexibility to work in‑shop or on‑road depending on fit and preference A small, experienced team where your work actually matters Room to grow as the company continues to expand GEHL dealership training resources If you're tired of being micromanaged or stuck doing the same thing every day, and want to be part of a shop that values skill, trust, and problem‑solving, please check us out!
