General Summary Under supervision, installs, maintains, adjusts, operates, and repairs water distribution and sewer collection systems. Essential Functions Installation, maintenance, operation, and repair of systems includes but is not limited to the physical structure such as valves, pumps, meters, screens, water taps, manholes, and any other stationary or mobile equipment necessary, and required for proper operations of these systems Takes and records readings produced from the operation of equipment and generates associated reports Daily and punctual attendance in the office and/or job site or off-site location is required Operated dump truck and front-end loader This position required to be available on an on-call basis for emergencies Travel between work locations is required Performs other related duties as assigned or requested Scope of Responsibility & Job Specifications, Knowledge, Skills and Competencies Scope of Responsibility Position reports to maintenance Manager or Distribution / Collections Supervisor(s) Level of supervision the employee receives Works under close supervision, employee's work product is subject to close, continuous inspection. Employee receives detailed instructions on new projects and assignments Level of supervision exercised None Here's what you'll need Hight School Diploma or possession of GED Certificate Possession of a valid Commercial Driver's License Ideally, you'll also have: Obtain Level II certification in Wastewater or Collections Systems within 36 months of assignment date depending on department assignment Obtain Level II certificate in Water or Distribution systems within 36 months of assignment depending on department assignment.
