This energetic role offers the opportunity to develop your mechanical skills while supporting experienced mechanics in a fast-paced environment. You will assist with the inspection, maintenance, and repair of industrial equipment, heavy trucks, and vehicle systems, ensuring safety and efficiency across operations. Duties Assist experienced mechanics with repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment, farm machinery, and automotive systems using hand tools and power tools Support the inspection of vehicles and equipment, suspensions, brakes, shocks & struts, and electrical components Help with equipment assembly, welding, fabrication, and general troubleshooting based on schematics and technical manuals Operate heavy machinery such as forklifts, excavators, cranes, or other industrial equipment under supervision Perform routine vehicle maintenance tasks including tire service, fluid checks, air brake inspections, and basic diagnostics Aid in the repair of diesel engines, HVAC systems, hydraulics, and electrical systems for various vehicles and machinery Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols for heavy lifting and equipment handling Skills Previous dealership or heavy equipment mechanic experience highly preferred Strong mechanical knowledge across automotive repair, heavy truck repair, and industrial equipment maintenance Proficiency with schematics, vehicle diagnostics tools, welding equipment, and power tools Familiarity with heavy machinery operation including excavators, forklifts, cranes, and tractor-trailers Ability to perform repairs on transmissions, suspensions, hydraulics, and electrical systems Knowledge of diesel mechanics, automotive electrical systems repair, tire service, and alignment procedures Excellent hand-eye coordination with the ability to lift heavy objects safely; experience with soldering or welding is a plus Strong customer service skills when assisting team members or clients with vehicle or equipment issues This role offers an exciting pathway into the world of heavy equipment maintenance with opportunities to expand your technical expertise.
