This position will work alongside and under the direction of our Head Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of commercial trucks and heavy equipment. Our fleet includes large trucks, semi-trucks, diesel equipment, and a variety of heavy equipment used in tree care and land-clearing operations. We are looking for someone with strong mechanical ability who is comfortable working on larger equipment and wants to be part of a busy, hands-on shop environment.

Responsibilities include:

Perform routine maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on commercial trucks, semi-trucks, and heavy equipment Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel-related issues Perform brake, suspension, drivetrain, engine, and other general repairs Assist with preventative maintenance to help keep equipment safe and operational Work with the Head Mechanic to prioritize repairs and equipment needs Respond to occasional equipment breakdowns and assist with field repairs as needed Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Document completed repairs and maintenance as required

Qualifications:

Previous mechanical experience with trucks, diesel equipment, heavy equipment, or a related field preferred Working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and general vehicle/equipment repair Ability to diagnose problems and perform repairs safely and efficiently Valid driver's license required CDL is a plus, but not required Welding/fabrication experience is a plus Ability to safely lift, move, climb, bend, and work around large trucks and equipment Dependable, organized, and able to work both independently and as part of a team About the Position This is a hands-on position working with a large and diverse fleet. The mechanic will work closely with our Head Mechanic and operations team to keep equipment maintained, minimize downtime, and address repairs as they arise. Full-time position
