Competitive hourly rate based on experience Position Overview We are seeking a Mobile Equipment Mechanic I/II to join a heavy industrial operation in Fultonville, NY. This position is responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing mobile and heavy equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation. This is an excellent opportunity for a diesel or heavy-equipment mechanic with experience in construction, aggregates, mining, trucking/fleet, agriculture, equipment rental, or a similar environment. Candidates with developing experience may be considered for Mechanic I , while more experienced mechanics capable of independently diagnosing and completing repairs may qualify for Mechanic II . Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on mobile and heavy equipment Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel-related issues Troubleshoot equipment failures and determine appropriate repairs Inspect equipment and identify worn or damaged components Repair or replace engines, hydraulic components, electrical systems, brakes, drivetrain components, and other equipment systems as needed Perform routine servicing, lubrication, adjustments, and scheduled maintenance Utilize diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, diagrams, and equipment specifications Document maintenance and repair work accurately Help minimize equipment downtime by completing repairs safely and efficiently Follow all company and site safety procedures Qualifications Previous experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, Equipment Technician, Fleet Mechanic, Field Service Technician , or similar mechanical role preferred Experience maintaining or repairing heavy/mobile equipment strongly preferred Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and general mechanical troubleshooting Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment Ability to safely perform physically demanding maintenance and repair work Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team Construction, quarry/aggregate, mining, equipment rental, fleet, agricultural, or heavy-industrial experience is a plus Equipment Experience Experience working with equipment such as the following is highly transferable: Front-end loaders Dozers Excavators Haul trucks Forklifts Skid steers Construction and aggregate equipment Other diesel-powered mobile equipment
Mechanic Levels Mechanic I:
Ideal for candidates with foundational diesel/heavy-equipment maintenance experience who are continuing to develop their diagnostic and repair skills.
Mechanic II:
Intended for experienced mechanics who can independently troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy mobile equipment. Why Apply?
