Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanic Helper to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this vital role, you will assist experienced heavy equipment and automotive mechanics in performing repairs, diagnostics, and routine maintenance on a wide range of vehicles and machinery. Your energetic approach and willingness to learn will contribute significantly to keeping our fleet and equipment operating at peak performance. Responsibilities Assist with the repair, maintenance, and inspection of heavy equipment, including excavators, cranes, forklifts, trucks and farm machinery Support automotive diagnostics and vehicle systems repairs for trucks, trailers, and other industrial vehicles Prepare and organize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and safety gear for daily tasks Help with the fabrication and assembly of mechanical components using schematics and technical drawings Perform routine equipment maintenance such as tire service, fluid checks, lubrication, and brake repairs Support heavy lifting operations safely using appropriate lifting equipment like forklifts or hoists Follow safety protocols during all repair activities and maintain a clean work environment Experience Previous experience working in a dealership or automotive repair shop is highly preferred Familiarity with heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, or forklifts is advantageous Knowledge of mechanical systems such as transmissions, hydraulics, suspension, air brakes, and HVAC systems Hands-on experience with diesel engines, vehicle electrical systems, wheel alignments, shocks & struts, and tire service Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex mechanical issues Mechanical knowledge combined with proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment and diagnostic tools Prior service technician or mechanic experience working on trucks or industrial machinery is a plus Join us to be part of a dedicated team where your mechanical aptitude will grow through hands-on work with diverse equipment. Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply
