Yard/Mechanic Assistant We are an established equipment dealer in Riverhead seeking a dependable, motivated full-time Yard/Mechanic Assistant to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with mechanical aptitude who is interested in hands-on work with construction and agricultural equipment and who wants to learn from experienced technicians. The position is Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m., with a starting wage of $17+/hour depending on experience.

Primary responsibilities include:

Assisting mechanics with equipment setup, basic repairs and preventative maintenance Performing oil changes, fluid checks and routine inspections Cleaning, organizing and maintaining the shop and yard to company standards Loading and unloading equipment safely for delivery and pickup Moving and positioning heavy equipment around the yard as directed Keeping inventory of supplies and reporting parts needs to technicians Opportunity to train on diagnostic procedures and more advanced mechanical tasks under supervision

Requirements:

A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required. Applicants must have mechanical aptitude; prior experience with construction or agricultural equipment is preferred but not required. Candidates should be able to perform physically demanding outdoor work in a variety of weather conditions. Experience operating a forklift or other heavy equipment is a strong plus. Strong safety awareness, punctuality and a willingness to learn are essential.
