JOB•6323 Set-Up Technician Columbus, OH | Full-Time | On-Site | $20•24 per hour (based on experience) Are you mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, and interested in a hands-on career working with heavy construction equipment? We're a heavy equipment dealership in Columbus, OH looking to add a Set-Up Technician to our Service Department team. No prior experience with heavy equipment is required — we provide the training, licensing, and certifications you need. If you're dependable, willing to learn, and comfortable being on your feet and around machinery all day, we want to hear from you. What You'll Do Clean and prepare incoming, rental, and new equipment, including equipment cabs, using a pressure washer in a full-size drive-through wash bay Perform equipment check-in and check-out, comparing condition and photos to identify and document any damage (cracked windshields, dents, wear, etc.) Document equipment condition electronically using a tablet, including photos and damage checklists Move and operate equipment around the yard, ranging from compact machines to full-size dozers and excavators Fuel and inspect company-owned equipment Operate a forklift Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop and yard Assist with shipping/receiving documentation and inventory control Support the parts and sales departments with acquiring and delivering parts or demo equipment as needed Communicate professionally with truck drivers and occasional customers entering the yard Immediately report any equipment or facility damage to management What We're Looking For High school diploma or GED required Willingness and ability to learn to safely operate a range of construction equipment Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety Comfortable using a tablet and basic Microsoft Office programs Able to lift/push up to 50 lbs. and remain on your feet, walking, bending, and moving throughout the shift Reliable, punctual, and a strong communicator who works well with a team Valid driver's license (motor vehicle record check required) Must be able to pass a drug screening No certifications or heavy equipment experience required — we're open to entry-level candidates and recent technical school graduates. A background in farming, automotive work, or similar mechanical environments is a plus, but the most important qualities are a willingness to learn and a safety-first mindset. Schedule Monday-Friday, no weekends 8-hour shifts scheduled between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM (some flexibility) Overtime opportunities may be available Pay & Benefits $20•24 per hour, based on experience Overtime paid at time-and-a-half Medical, dental, and vision insurance effective the first of the month following hire 401(k) with company match Paid time off (2 weeks in year one) Annual employee incentive Paid training toward equipment operation licensing/certification Why Join Our Team This role is a great entry point into a long-term career in the construction equipment industry.
