Position Summary The Mechanical/Welding Technician is responsible for performing repairs, fabrication, and preventative maintenance on plant equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. This role plays a key part in minimizing downtime, improving reliability, and supporting overall production goals. Key Responsibilities Perform routine and emergency repairs on mechanical equipment and systems Fabricate parts and components as needed to support maintenance and production needs Conduct preventative maintenance to reduce equipment downtime and extend asset life Troubleshoot mechanical issues and identify root causes of equipment failures Complete welding tasks (MIG, TIG, Stick) for repairs and fabrication projects Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings Inspect equipment regularly and report any potential issues Maintain accurate records of maintenance work performed Follow all safety procedures and ensure work is completed in compliance with company standards Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to improve equipment performance Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required 2+ years of mechanical maintenance and welding experience preferred Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and equipment Welding experience (MIG, TIG, and/or Stick) required Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team MKB Company is an equal opportunity employer.
