This is a hands-on opportunity for individuals who enjoy working on equipment, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and developing their skills in a shop environment. Previous mechanic experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidates. Whether you're an experienced mechanic looking for your next opportunity or a recent trade-school graduate ready to build your skills, this role provides exposure to a wide variety of construction equipment and opportunities to grow your mechanical knowledge.
Job Duties:
Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair a variety of construction equipment and vehicles Perform preventive maintenance and routine equipment inspections Identify mechanical issues and determine appropriate repairs Complete repairs safely, efficiently, and according to established procedures Assist with preparing and maintaining equipment for field and project use Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area Properly maintain and care for tools and shop equipment Work collaboratively with other mechanics and BEAM team members Follow all company safety policies and procedures Our Shop Mechanics work on a wide variety of construction equipment, including: Trowel machines Generators Concrete saws Concrete vacuums Light plants Skid steers Forklifts Rough-terrain forklifts Pickup trucks Other construction and support equipment
Schedule:
This position is based in the Monroe, OH.
shop and works:
Monday-Friday | 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Overtime opportunities are currently available based on workload and business needs.
What We're Looking For:
Previous mechanic experience is preferred but not required Trade school or technical training in automotive, diesel, heavy equipment, or a related field is a plus Mechanical aptitude and an interest in learning equipment repair and maintenance Ability to troubleshoot problems and learn new equipment and systems Willingness to provide and build a personal set of mechanic tools Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic Commitment to working safely and producing quality work
Tools & Development:
Shop Mechanics are expected to have or work toward developing their own tools and toolbox. BEAM provides an annual tool allowance that co-workers can use to expand their tool collection over time. Don't have a complete toolbox yet? That's okay. BEAM has shop toolboxes with basic tools available for co-workers who are building their personal tool collection.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED Trade School certification and 3 years' work experience or 6 years' work experience Knowledge of hydraulics, diesel, and electronics Experience with laser-controlled equipment a plus Welding certification or experience is a plus Willing to work with others and be part of a team Possess good safety and housekeeping habits Must have clean driving record Successful candidate will be subject to pre-employment drug screening and a satisfactory background check We offer a competitive salary and benefits package as well as an exciting and fulfilling work environment.
