Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and energetic Heavy Duty Shop Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy equipment, including heavy-duty equipment, lifts, cranes and semi-trucks. Your expertise will ensure that all equipment operates safely and efficiently, supporting our operational excellence. The ideal candidate possesses strong problem-solving skills, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where safety and quality are paramount. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, lifts and semi-trucks. Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, tire service, and hydraulic system inspections to prevent breakdowns. Repair and overhaul engines and transmissions, suspensions, brakes, shocks & struts, air brake systems, and steering components to ensure optimal performance. Utilize power tools and heavy lifting equipment to disassemble and assemble machinery safely and efficiently. Troubleshoot electrical systems including electrical repairs, sensors, wiring harnesses, and onboard computer diagnostics. Maintain detailed service records for all repairs performed and communicate effectively with customers regarding maintenance needs or repairs needed. Skills Proven dealership or heavy equipment mechanic experience with a strong understanding of mechanical systems repair. Proficiency in reading schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams. Extensive knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, HVAC systems on heavy machinery, and vehicle maintenance. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and other maintenance tools. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working on large equipment or vehicles. Experience with automotive diagnostics for trucks and trailers. Strong customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients or team members. Pay:
$30.00 - $34.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 60.0 per week
