Description Berg Construction is a locally owned and operated excavation company. We are currently growing and are looking to hire a Shop Mechanic/Service Technician to join our Team. The Shop Mechanic will diagnose and repair heavy equipment and trucks, in a safe manner to allow our field personnel to return to work. This position works on location most of the time. The Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing issues on automotive, heavy trucks and a variety of construction equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Complete repairs on various types of truck & equipment

Troubleshoot, repair and maintain of mechanical, electrical, hydraulics and diesel systems

Provide on-site personnel basic training, as needed

Qualifications:

At least 2 years' preferred experience with heavy construction equipment

Ability to effectively diagnose and troubleshoot complex equipment problems

Strong initiative required; ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision

Have a clear understanding of the necessity of equipment safety

Must have basic set of mechanic's hand tools

Must be able to work on several types and brands of equipment

Valid Driver's License, CDL preferred but not required

Must be able to pass drug test and background check
