Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Heavy Mobile Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy equipment and vehicles, including construction machinery, farm equipment, industrial systems, and heavy trucks. Your expertise will ensure that all equipment operates safely and efficiently, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, bulldozers, and other industrial machinery using schematics and technical manuals. Conduct routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, tire service, hydraulic system checks, brake repairs, suspension adjustments, and engine tune-ups to ensure optimal performance. Fabricate parts or modifications as needed using welding, cutting tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific operational requirements. Troubleshoot electrical systems including automotive electrical systems repair, sensors, wiring harnesses, and onboard computer diagnostics. Repair transmissions, powertrain components, hydraulics, air brake systems, HVAC units, shocks & struts, and other mechanical systems critical to heavy equipment operation. Use hand tools and power tools safely to assemble or disassemble machinery components during repairs or maintenance procedures. Maintain detailed service records and logs of all repairs performed; adhere to safety protocols and industry standards for vehicle maintenance and equipment repair. Skills Proven experience working with heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, and farm machinery. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, suspensions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and vehicle systems. Ability to read schematics accurately for troubleshooting complex mechanical or electrical issues. Skilled in welding (including soldering) and fabrication techniques for custom repairs or modifications. Familiarity with automotive diagnostics tools and the use of diagnostic software for troubleshooting vehicle systems. Experience with vehicle maintenance including tire service, alignment, shocks & struts replacement, brake repair, and general automotive repair. Knowledge of safety standards related to heavy lifting operations and the use of safety equipment such as harnesses or fall protection gear. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
