Three Essential Functions Leadership Lead through your actions, professionalism, communication, safety practices, and willingness to help others. Take ownership of the customer relationship and represent Kales professionally at all times. Diagnose & Repair Troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain, and repair diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. Identify the root cause of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and equipment-related issues, and complete repairs efficiently and correctly. Detailed Execution Complete inspections, repairs, documentation, and follow-up with a high level of accuracy. Communicate equipment concerns clearly and ensure work is completed safely and thoroughly. Job Summary Perform maintenance and repair of Class 7 and Class 8 commercial trucks and various types of mobile equipment in company shops or on public roadways as necessary. Maximize equipment availability through the use of efficient and proactive preventative maintenance programs. This position requires weekly travel to job sites. Job Responsibilities Diagnose electrical problems and perform mechanical repairs and maintenance on various types of equipment, including but not limited to service trucks, ready-mix concrete trucks, heavy construction equipment, and wheel loaders Operate and inspect equipment to diagnose defects Perform routine preventative maintenance such as lubrication, oil changes, DPF system service, and failure analysis Perform routine brake inspections and adjustments on commercial vehicles in accordance with Federal DOT requirements Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, electronics, and other components on concrete mixer trucks, tractor and dump trailers, pneumatic cement tankers, forklifts, Moffett trucks, and wheel loaders Remove components for repair or replacement, including but not limited to injectors, starters, water pumps, radiators, brakes, and tire inflation systems Create work orders for repairs and services, providing legible and accurate information on work performed Coordinate with the location shop lead or supervisor and review pre-trip/post-trip truck inspections to prioritize work accordingly Input daily repair order forms into the software-based tracking program Communicate with drivers and plant managers to ensure adherence to preventative vehicle maintenance policies and practices Use a wide variety of hand and power tools, cutting torches, welding equipment, needle guns, and pneumatic chisels Order parts from approved vendors; drive company service/repair truck to make road service calls and pick up parts as needed Travel to job sites on a weekly basis to perform repairs, maintenance, and inspections Operate fixed and mobile equipment as necessary within FDOT guidelines May assist in the maintenance and repair of fixed production equipment Adhere to all customer and OSHA rules and regulations at all times Wear proper safety equipment while in shops or production areas Meet or exceed company safety standards Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management Qualifications Mechanical experience required Must have own tools, up to 1 ¼" Ability to read, write, and speak English High school diploma preferred Bilingual is a plus CDL is a plus Working Conditions Regularly required to talk and hear in order to communicate with employees, drivers, operators, and visitors, and to function safely around heavy rolling equipment Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and outdoor working conditions Must wear protective equipment at all locations Travels to job sites on a weekly basis Physical Requirements Must be able to perform all job functions, which may include walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, turning, climbing to a significant degree, and operating controls

$34.00 - $40.00 per hour
