About the Role We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will ensure the operational integrity of our fleet by performing expert diagnostics, structural repairs, and precision welding to keep our logistics operations moving safely and efficiently. Responsibilities Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical issues across various trailer systems, including suspension and electrical components. Execute high-quality structural repairs and metal fabrication using MIG and stick welding techniques. Perform comprehensive brake system maintenance and safety inspections to ensure regulatory compliance. Utilize advanced diagnostic tools to troubleshoot mechanical failures and implement effective, long-term solutions. Maintain a high standard of shop safety and organization while operating heavy equipment like forklifts. Validate all completed repairs through rigorous quality control checks to meet performance benchmarks. Qualifications Required Skills Proven experience in mechanical repair, specifically with trailer or heavy automotive systems. Proficiency in welding, fabrication, and soldering techniques. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical and pneumatic systems. Commitment to safety protocols and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks in a shop environment. Preferred Skills 1+ years of dedicated experience as a trailer mechanic. Familiarity with diesel engine systems and light vehicle diesel maintenance. Technical certification or formal training in welding or heavy-duty vehicle repair.
