This is not a full-time W-2 position and requires approximately 75%+ travel. Work is offered on a project-by-project basis based on workload and availability. Projects may range from a single day to several days or weeks. Responsibilities Install and troubleshoot structured cabling systems, including CAT6/CAT6A and fiber. Terminate, test, label, and dress cabling according to industry standards and customer specifications. Install cabling pathways including J-hooks, cable racks, innerduct, sleeves, and conduit. Assist with installation of networking, surveillance, access control, and related low-voltage systems. Read and work from blueprints, floor plans, and project drawings. Verify equipment and materials and assist with project setup. Maintain a clean, professional, and safe jobsite. Work independently as well as part of a project team. Skills & Requirements Previous commercial or industrial low-voltage experience. Knowledge of structured cabling systems, wiring configurations, and terminations. Experience operating scissor and boom lifts. Fiber installation, termination, splicing, or testing experience is a plus. Conduit installation experience is a plus. Surveillance, access control, and networking experience is a plus. Good communication skills and professional interaction with customers and other trades. Basic telecommunications tools, hand tools, and appropriate PPE. Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and appropriate vehicle insurance. Must be comfortable with approximately 75%+ travel, including overnight and multi-day projects. Physical Requirements Must be able to safely use hand and power tools, lift and carry up to 75 lbs., climb ladders, work from aerial lifts, and work in commercial and industrial environments that may include warehouses, construction areas, outdoor locations, varying temperatures, and elevated work areas. Travel & Project Work Projects may be located throughout Tennessee, surrounding states, and other areas based on customer needs. Approved travel-related expenses, including lodging, mileage, airfare, rental vehicles, and other reasonable project expenses, will be provided or reimbursed according to the terms of each project. Travel arrangements and reimbursement details will be agreed upon prior to the project. Contractor Information This is an independent contractor / project-based opportunity : No guaranteed minimum hours. Contractors may accept projects based on availability. Compensation will be agreed upon for each project or assignment. Contractors are expected to provide their own basic hand tools, PPE, and transportation. Contractors are responsible for their own taxes, insurance, licensing, and other applicable contractor obligations. A W-9 and proof of applicable insurance may be required. Some customer sites may require background checks, drug screening, MVR checks, or site-specific safety requirements.
