• Perform comprehensive inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy construction machinery including excavators, bulldozers, skid steers, dump trucks, trailers, graders, pavers, loaders, etc.
• Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, brake repairs, hydraulic system servicing, and tire replacements.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, air brakes, suspension components, HVAC systems, etc. using schematics and diagnostic tools.
• Fabricate parts or modify equipment using welding, soldering, and hand tools to meet specific operational needs.
• Utilize OEM manuals and technical schematics to accurately diagnose issues and execute repairs efficiently.
• Service forklifts, tractor-trailers, fleet vehicles, and other heavy-duty vehicles to ensure safety compliance and optimal operation.
• Maintain detailed service records, logs of repairs performed, parts used, and diagnostics conducted for accountability and future reference.
• Maintain cleanliness in the shop. Experience
• Proven experience as a heavy equipment mechanic with dealership or service technician background preferred.
• Strong mechanical knowledge across construction machinery maintenance, automotive repair, diesel engine diagnostics, and electrical systems.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, schematics reading, and diagnostic software.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues involving hydraulics, transmissions, suspensions, HVAC systems, and electrical components.
• Experience working with OEM parts and familiarity with various brands such as Caterpillar or similar manufacturers is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of heavy equipment operation along with the ability to perform heavy lifting safely is essential.
• Must have valid driver's license.
• Have basic computer skills for record keeping.
• Pay is based off experience.
