Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and experienced Equipment Technician/Mechanic to join our team. As an Equipment Technician/Mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of various types of equipment. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical skills and the ability to work independently. Duties Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment to identify potential issues including inspections, lubrication, and adjustments. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical problems using tools such as an ohmmeter and other diagnostic equipment to determine root cause. Perform repairs and repair faulty components or parts on various machinery, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Conduct brake repairs and replacements. Solder electrical connections as necessary. Utilize hand tools and specialized equipment to perform repairs. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed. Ensure that all work areas are clean and organized, and assist in the installation of new equipment as needed. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines at all times. All other duties as assigned. Requirements Proven experience (3 years minimum) as an Equipment Mechanic or similar role. Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance principles and practices. Proven experience in maintaining and repairing various types of equipment. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, including an ohmmeter. Proficiency in brake repair techniques. Familiarity with soldering electrical connections. Proficient in using hand tools and specialized equipment. Knowledge of hydraulics is a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting, up to 50 pounds, and physically demanding tasks. Experience working on and operating heavy machinery such as Caterpillar, John Deere and Peterbilt is preferred. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Relevant certifications are a plus. We offer competitive pay based on experience.
