GM / Location Manager Position Summary The Shop Technician is responsible for the inspection, cleaning, testing, and restoration of Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF), Diesel Oxidation Catalysts (DOC), and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems. This role ensures high-quality service delivery, adherence to safety standards, and efficient turnaround times to support customer uptime. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in an industrial shop environment. Key ResponsibilitiesDPF Cleaning & Restoration Perform DPF, DOC, and SCR inspections using diagnostic equipment Operate thermal cleaning ovens, pneumatic cleaning systems, and related machinery Conduct pre- and post-cleaning flow testing Document test results and service details accurately Identify damaged or non-repairable components and escalate as needed Shop Operations Load and unload heavy components (25-100+ lbs with assistance or equipment) Maintain clean and organized work areas Assist in packaging and preparing completed units for shipment Follow established SOPs to ensure quality and consistency Support inventory handling and tracking of filters and parts Safety & Compliance Adhere to all OSHA and company safety standards Wear required PPE at all times Safely operate forklifts and shop equipment (if certified) Report equipment issues or safety concerns immediately Team Support Work collaboratively with other technicians and shop staff Assist with customer service support when required Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives QualificationsRequired High school diploma or GED Mechanical aptitude or prior hands-on technical experience Ability to lift up to 30 lbs (with assistance as needed) Comfortable working in a shop/industrial environment Strong attention to detail Ability to follow written procedures and instructions Preferred Experience in diesel repair, heavy equipment, or automotive service Forklift certification Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation Understanding of emissions systems (DPF, DOC, SCR) Skills & Competencies Mechanical troubleshooting ability Process-oriented and quality-driven Reliability and strong work ethic Team-oriented mindset Time management and efficiency focus Physical Requirements Standing for extended periods Frequent lifting, bending, and reaching Exposure to industrial shop conditions (heat, noise, dust) Use of PPE including gloves, eye protection, and hearing protection Work Schedule Full-time position Overtime as required based on workload Occasional weekend work may be required Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly wage Overtime opportunities Health, dental, and vision benefits (if applicable) Paid time off Training and advancement opportunities
