Position Overview SWAT Construction Inc. is seeking a dependable and mechanically inclined Shop Hand / Mechanic to support the maintenance and repair of company vehicles, heavy equipment, and tools. This position will assist with routine vehicle and equipment maintenance, basic troubleshooting and repairs, parts and tool organization, inventory, and general shop operations. The ideal candidate is hands-on, organized, safety-conscious, and comfortable working around construction equipment and vehicles. A valid driver's license is required . Key ResponsibilitiesVehicle & Equipment Maintenance Perform routine maintenance on company vehicles, heavy equipment, and other machinery. Assist with oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, fluid checks, tire changes, battery maintenance, and other preventative maintenance tasks. Inspect vehicles and equipment for mechanical issues, wear, damage, and safety concerns. Assist with maintaining equipment in safe and reliable operating condition. Help prepare equipment and vehicles for deployment to project locations. Maintain accurate maintenance records and report issues to the appropriate supervisor. Basic Troubleshooting & Repairs Perform basic mechanical troubleshooting and repairs on vehicles and construction equipment. Diagnose common mechanical issues and assist with determining necessary repairs. Repair or replace basic components as needed. Assist experienced mechanics with more complex repairs and maintenance. Use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop equipment safely and properly. Communicate mechanical problems and repair needs to supervision. Parts, Tools & Inventory Support Receive, organize, and maintain parts, supplies, and shop inventory. Keep tools and equipment clean, organized, and properly stored. Track parts and supplies used for maintenance and repairs. Assist with ordering and obtaining parts and materials as needed. Maintain an organized and efficient shop environment. Help ensure commonly used parts, tools, fluids, and supplies are properly stocked. General Shop Support Provide general assistance with day-to-day shop operations. Run errands and pick up or deliver parts, supplies, tools, and other materials as needed. Assist the Shop Manager with various maintenance, organization, and administrative tasks. Assist with loading, unloading, moving, and securing equipment, parts, and materials. Keep the shop, work areas, tools, and equipment clean and organized. Support field crews with equipment and maintenance needs as directed. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous experience in vehicle, heavy equipment, diesel, automotive, or general mechanical maintenance is preferred. Basic mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills. Ability to safely use common hand and power tools. Ability to perform routine preventative maintenance. Experience working with construction equipment or fleet vehicles is a plus. Strong organizational skills with attention to parts, tools, and inventory. Ability to identify and communicate mechanical issues. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Strong commitment to workplace and shop safety. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Reliable attendance and strong work ethic. Ability to work in a shop and outdoor environment and perform physical tasks as required. Valid driver's license is required. Willingness to travel to project locations when needed. Pay:

$16.00 - $26.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
