Job Description

Job Summary We are looking for a dependable and motivated Shop Hand to join our growing excavation company. This position is ideal for someone with basic mechanical knowledge who wants to build a career working on heavy construction equipment and fleet vehicles. Experienced mechanics are also encouraged to apply. You will work alongside our shop team performing inspections, preventative maintenance, repairs, and general shop duties on a wide variety of equipment. Equipment You'll Work On Excavators (Track Hoes) Wheel Loaders Skid Steers Dozers Dump Trucks Water Trucks Pickup Trucks Service Trucks Trailers Small equipment and shop tools Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance services Change oil, filters, fluids, and grease equipment Inspect equipment for mechanical issues and safety concerns Replace worn parts such as hoses, belts, batteries, lights, and filters Assist with diagnostics and repairs on diesel and gas-powered equipment Keep accurate maintenance records Wash, clean, and prepare equipment for field use Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop Assist mechanics with larger repairs and rebuilds Load and unload parts and supplies Operate forklifts and equipment safely (training available) Qualifications Basic mechanical experience required Experience working on heavy equipment, diesel engines, farm equipment, or automotive vehicles is preferred Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools Strong work ethic and willingness to learn Ability to lift up to 75 pounds Valid driver's license Ability to work independently and as part of a team Preferred Experience Heavy equipment maintenance Diesel engine repair Hydraulic systems Electrical troubleshooting Welding and fabrication (a plus, not required) CDL (a plus, not required) What We're Looking For We want someone who: Shows up on time every day Takes pride in their work Is willing to learn and grow Has a positive attitude Can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Values safety and teamwork Whether you're just starting your mechanical career or already have years of experience, we're looking for someone who is dependable and eager to contribute.
