Job Description

Signature Aviation seeks a Ground Service Equipment Mechanic to inspect, maintain, and repair a variety of aviation ground support vehicles and equipment, including tugs, fuel trucks, deicers, GPUs, and belt loaders. You'll perform troubleshooting on diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulic and electrical systems; complete preventive maintenance; document work in maintenance systems; and ensure all tasks meet strict safety, regulatory, and company standards. Collaborate with operations teams to minimize downtime and support safe, efficient ramp operations in a fast-paced airport environment. Responsibilities Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair ground service equipment including tugs, fuel trucks, GPUs, and belt loaders Perform preventive maintenance on diesel, gasoline, and electric-powered GSE to minimize downtime Diagnose and repair hydraulic, mechanical, and 12/24 V electrical systems Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders in CMMS or maintenance logs Ensure all work complies with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards Respond to equipment breakdowns on the ramp to support continuous flight operations Collaborate with operations and ramp teams to prioritize critical repairs Maintain shop tools, equipment, and a clean, safe work area Assist with parts identification, ordering, and inventory control Participate in ongoing training on safety, OEM procedures, and new equipment Required Skills Ground support equipment (GSE) repair Diesel and gasoline engine diagnostics Hydraulic systems troubleshooting12/24 V electrical systems repair Preventive maintenance scheduling Reading technical manuals and schematics Use of diagnostic tools and shop equipment Welding and fabrication basics Safety and OSHA compliance Computerized maintenance systems (CMMS)
