Quality Lawn Care Service, Inc. and Mulch and More Landscape Supply are growing companies based in Waynesboro, VA. We're looking for a reliable, hands-on Equipment Maintenance Technician to own equipment maintenance, yard operations, and inventory management across our full fleet — trucks and trailers, mowing and small equipment, and heavy equipment like skid steers and excavators. This is not an entry-level, learn-on-the-job role — we need someone who already has the fundamentals down and can be trusted to keep our crews moving without daily oversight. We also run one season ahead of the weather: while crews are still mowing, we're already prepping leaf clean-up equipment, and while leaf season is in full swing, we're getting snow equipment ready to go. You'll need to keep multiple equipment categories moving at once, not just handle what's in front of you today. Schedule & Pay Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-4:30 PM. Longer hours required during snow season to keep plow equipment ready and operational. $20-$30/hour depending on experience, paid weekly.

Trucks & trailers: fluid and brake service, trailer wiring and lights, hitch/towing setups, coordinating state inspections Mowing & small equipment: blade sharpening and balancing, trimmer head/line swaps, belt and filter changes Heavy equipment: skid steers, mini excavators, wheel loaders, grinders, and compactors Seasonal turnover: servicing and staging leaf, mowing, and snow equipment ahead of the season it's needed Diagnosing a mechanical or electrical problem instead of guessing or waiting for someone else to figure it out Responsibilities Maintain and repair the full range of company equipment: mowers, trimmers, skid steers, mini excavators, wheel loaders, grinders, compactors, sprayers, and more Maintain company trucks (gas & diesel): oil changes, fluid top-offs, tire rotation, brakes, greasing, coordinating state inspections Install/remove snow plows and salt spreaders Track parts and supply needs before they become a breakdown — order proactively, not after equipment is already down Keep the shop and yard clean, organized, and safe Maintain accurate inventory logs Load/unload materials, mulch, stone, and equipment for company and customer vehicles Requirements Strong mechanical aptitude with provable, hands-on experience (you will be asked to demonstrate basic tasks during the interview) Valid U.S. driver's license, clean driving record, insurable under company policy Able to lift up to 50 lbs, work outdoors in all weather, and work in tight/awkward spaces Self-motivated — comfortable making judgment calls and ordering parts without being told twice Must pass background check and drug test Nice to Have CDL Class A or B ASE certification or formal diesel/small-engine training Heavy equipment operating experience
