Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Equipment Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of small to heavy forestry and industrial equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on forestry machinery, including chippers, stump grinders, loaders, and other heavy equipment. Conduct electrical diagnostics and troubleshoot electrical systems across diverse equipment types using schematics and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) manuals. Repair and maintain diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, suspension components, and HVAC systems on industrial machinery. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques to assemble, repair, or modify equipment components. Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as tire service, brake repairs, alignment checks, and lubrication to ensure machinery reliability. Read and interpret technical schematics and mechanical drawings to accurately diagnose issues and execute repairs efficiently. Support fabrication projects as needed to modify or enhance equipment functionality while adhering to safety standards. Assist in heavy lifting operations using forklifts or other lifting devices safely and effectively. Maintain detailed service records, repair logs, and maintenance schedules to ensure compliance with safety regulations and OEM standards. Experience Proven experience working as an Equipment Mechanic in a dealership environment or heavy equipment servicing setting. Strong background in construction or forestry machinery maintenance including excavators, cranes, woodchippers, farm machinery, and/or industrial equipment. Extensive knowledge of diesel and gas engine diagnostics, automotive repair techniques, hydraulics, electrical systems, and schematics interpretation. Hands-on experience with welding, fabrication, HVAC systems repair, tire service, suspension work, brake repair, and power tool operation. Familiarity with heavy equipment operation and safety procedures related to industrial machinery servicing. Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues efficiently using diagnostic tools for electrical and diesel engine systems. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members or clients.
