Job Description
LRI, a Waste Connections Company, is hiring a highly experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team at our Hidden Valley Transfer Station site in Puyallup, Washington . This demanding, hands-on role is ideal for professionals who excel in high-responsibility environments and are committed to safety, reliability, and technical excellence.
Compensation & Schedule Hourly Pay:
$35.00- 40.
Schedule:
Tuesday through Saturday, 6:30 AM to 3:30PM Overtime:
Required as needed to meet operational demands About the Role This position involves complex diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on a wide range of heavy diesel equipment . It is classified as safety-sensitive , meaning the work directly impacts the safety of personnel, equipment , and the public. Key Responsibilities Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs on heavy diesel and yellow iron equipment Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards Troubleshoot and resolve issues from Operator Vehicle Inspection Reports Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area Communicate repair needs clearly and professionally Follow all safety protocols and procedures without exception Minimum Requirements 5+ years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and diesel repair Strong knowledge of yellow iron machinery, hydraulics , and diesel systems Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in physically demanding conditions Must own and maintain a complete set of professional-grade tools Valid driver's license with a clean MVR Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics High school diploma or GED required ASE certifications or welding qualifications are preferred Must be a self-starter capable of working independentlySafety-Sensitive:
