Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Field Service Diesel Mechanic to join our team. This position is responsible for the maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of diesel-powered equipment, tractors, trucks, and trailers at company and customer locations. This position will require travelling between sites (daily, overnight). The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently in a field environment, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, completing emergency repairs, and ensuring equipment remains safe, reliable, and compliant with DOT requirements.
Compensation & Benefits Salary:
$85,000 - $100,000 per year, based on experience.

Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance 401(k) with company match Life insurance Paid time off Key Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance, preventative maintenance inspections (PMIs), diagnostics, and repairs on diesel-powered equipment. Diagnose faults and perform emergency on-site repairs. Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines, drivetrains, brakes, suspension, electrical, hydraulic, and A/C systems. Maintain and repair tag-along and semi-trailers. Prepare vehicles, tractors, trailers, and equipment to ensure they are in optimal condition for DOT inspections. Perform DOT-related inspections and repairs as required. Diagnose failures, determine the appropriate repair, and complete repairs efficiently and safely. Respond to service calls and provide field-based technical support at customer locations. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work. Record all work orders and parts used in the Electronic Fleet Maintenance System. Collaborate with fleet management to schedule maintenance and maximize equipment availability. Ensure all repairs and parts used are accurately reflected in work orders and related documentation. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Comply with all applicable DOT, OSHA, EPA, and company safety requirements. Work independently while maintaining a high standard of quality, productivity, and customer service. Qualifications & Requirements Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, or similar role. Strong knowledge of diesel engines and related mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, braking, suspension, and A/C systems. Experience working on heavy trucks, tractors, trailers, and diesel-powered equipment. Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic tools. Experience performing preventative maintenance and inspections. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to work independently in a field-service environment. Must have own standard mechanic's tools. All required specialty tools will be provided. Strong problem-solving and diagnostic abilities. Ability to complete service documentation accurately and efficiently. Ability to lift heavy equipment/components and work in varying weather conditions. Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites as required. Ability to respond to emergency service calls when required.
