Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a skilled HVAC Maintenance and Installation Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and related mechanical systems across various properties. This role requires a strong foundation in HVAC systems, mechanical knowledge, and field service experience to ensure optimal operation and safety of equipment. The technician will work on diverse projects, including system diagnostics, schematic interpretation, and equipment repair, contributing to property maintenance and client satisfaction. Responsibilities Install, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration systems, and ammonia refrigeration equipment. Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals related to HVAC design and property maintenance. Perform routine maintenance on HVAC/R equipment to ensure efficient operation. Conduct plumbing and mechanical repairs as needed to support HVAC system functionality. Utilize diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters for electrical troubleshooting and system analysis. Repair or replace mechanical components using welding or other equipment repair techniques. Maintain detailed service records of all work performed for compliance and future reference. Assist with the installation of new equipment following safety standards and manufacturer specifications. Ensure all work complies with safety regulations including proper handling of refrigerants like ammonia. Operate a company vehicle safely in accordance with requirements for field service tasks. Requirements Proven experience as a service technician in HVAC or related fields such as construction, appliance repair, or property maintenance. Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in HVAC design, refrigeration, plumbing, boiler systems, and equipment repair. Familiarity with schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals related to HVAC/R systems. Experience working with ammonia refrigeration systems is highly desirable. Ability to read electrical schematics and use diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters effectively. Skilled in welding and other mechanical repair techniques. Prior field service experience is preferred along with knowledge of air conditioning systems and maintenance procedures. Valid driver's license required for field operations. Additional skills such as boiler operation experience or mechanic background are advantageous.
