Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and skilled HVAC Technician to join our dynamic facilities maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems across various building types. Your expertise will ensure optimal indoor climate control, energy efficiency, and safety standards are upheld. Duties Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps, ventilation fans, and related equipment using hand tools and electrical testing devices. Conduct routine inspections of HVAC units to identify potential issues early and perform necessary repairs to prevent system failures. Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and building plans to accurately diagnose system problems. Perform electrical work related to HVAC systems such as wiring connections, electrical equipment repair, and programming programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Maintain facilities equipment including plumbing systems, plumbing system maintenance and repair, carpentry tasks related to ductwork or mounting units, and general building interior maintenance. Utilize welding skills when necessary for metal repairs or fabrication of parts. Conduct maintenance painting as needed for HVAC or facility-related projects to ensure safety standards are met. Supervise or lead junior technicians on complex repairs or installations while ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, schematics used, and parts inventory for compliance and future reference. Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients about system issues and repair timelines. Qualifications Proven experience in HVAC system repair and maintenance within residential or commercial settings. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience; familiarity with electrical equipment repair is essential. Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals accurately. Skilled in the use of hand tools, electrical testing devices such as ohmmeters and multimeters, as well as specialized equipment like Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). Knowledge of plumbing systems maintenance and repair along with building interior maintenance skills including carpentry and painting. Experience with welding techniques for metal fabrication or repairs. Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose issues efficiently using schematics and technical documentation. Supervising experience or leadership qualities preferred for guiding team members or apprentices. Strong communication skills in English; ability to explain technical information clearly to clients or team members. Physical ability to perform manual tasks including lifting heavy equipment, climbing ladders, bending, and working in confined spaces.
