Job Description
Golden Valley MEP is a California electrical and HVAC federal government contractor and we need a solid journeyman HVAC installer that specializes in system replacement. What You'll Do Remove and dispose of two existing Bard wall-mount units Recover refrigerant per EPA 608 and document it Rig, set, level, and secure new Bard W36HY 3-ton wall-mount heat pumps (R-454B) Reconnect existing power and low voltage control wiring Install and wire programmable thermostats Pressure test, start up, and commission the systems Check airflow and temperatures, and walk the on-site manager through the system Keep the site clean and leave nothing behind What You Need EPA 608 Certification (Universal or Type II). This is required. At least 2 years of HVAC install experience, including wall-mount packaged units (Bard, Marvair, or similar) Experience with A2L refrigerants (R-454B or R-32) or A2L training completed Basic electrical knowledge: reading a nameplate, checking voltage, lockout/tagout, and landing low voltage wires. You don't need to be an electrician. U.S. citizen. This is required for base access. Must pass a background check for military base entry Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Your own hand tools. Gauges and a recovery machine are a plus.
