We're looking for a skilled, dependable HVAC Technician to install, service, diagnose, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. The ideal candidate takes pride in clean, code-compliant work, can troubleshoot confidently on their own, and knows how to explain problems and solutions to customers in plain language. You'll represent Ideal Air in customers' homes and on job sites every day, so professionalism and communication matter as much as technical skill. Responsibilities Installation Install split systems, packaged units, heat pumps, ductless mini-splits, furnaces, and air handlers according to manufacturer specifications, the California Mechanical Code, and local requirements Install, modify, and seal ductwork, including flex and sheet metal runs, plenums, and registers Run refrigerant line sets, braze with nitrogen purge, pressure test, evacuate to proper micron levels, and charge systems accurately Wire low-voltage controls, thermostats, and line-voltage connections per wiring diagrams Complete new-construction and ADU rough-ins and finals, and prepare systems for inspection Service and Repair Diagnose and repair cooling, heating, electrical, airflow, and refrigerant issues across a range of equipment brands Perform preventive maintenance, including coil cleaning, filter changes, drain line service, electrical checks, and performance testing Measure and document system performance (superheat, subcooling, static pressure, temperature split, amp draw) Recover, recycle, and handle refrigerants in compliance with EPA regulations Customer and Company Duties Explain findings, repair options, and pricing clearly and honestly to customers Complete job documentation, service tickets, photos, and checklists accurately and on time Keep the company vehicle, tools, and inventory clean, organized, and stocked Leave every job site clean and protect customers' homes during work (floor protection, drop cloths, cleanup) Support Title 24 compliance and HERS verification testing as required Follow all safety practices and company policies Required Qualifications EPA Section 608 Certification (Universal preferred) 2+ years of hands-on HVAC field experience in installation and/or service Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record Strong understanding of the refrigeration cycle, airflow principles, and HVAC electrical systems Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and mechanical plans Proficiency with standard HVAC tools and instruments, including manifold gauges (analog or digital), multimeter, vacuum pump, micron gauge, and brazing equipment Working knowledge of California Mechanical Code and Title 24 energy requirements Professional appearance, reliability, and strong customer communication skills Ability to use a smartphone or tablet for job documentation and field service software Ability to pass a background check Preferred Qualifications NATE certification HVAC trade school certificate or completed apprenticeship Experience with heat pumps, inverter-driven equipment, and ductless mini-split systems Experience handling A2L refrigerants (R-454B, R-32) Experience with new-construction and

installations Familiarity with HERS testing, duct leakage testing, and airflow verification Bilingual (English/Spanish) Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Work in attics, crawlspaces, rooftops, and tight spaces, including high heat during summer months Lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly, and assist with heavier equipment Climb ladders and work at heights safely Stand, kneel, bend, and crawl for extended periods Travel daily to job sites throughout Los Angeles, Orange, and Riverside Counties Occasional overtime, weekend, or on-call availability during peak season
